 The How

Solution:

This startup were experiencing a 50% drop off after this frame.

User feedback showed that many people thought the test was over and either exited the test early — which resulted in lost data — or stayed on the page but felt frustrated and misled: bad UX practices.

We aligned messaging for consistency, emphasised progress on the task, and focused on simplicity.

What’s more, we worked with the UX Designer to reduce permissions and ease the user’s cognitive load by extending the recording for the entire task.

In this project I also helped create the startup's design principles and a style guide using ZeroHeight.

The lesson:

  • Content Design is best when UX Writers and Designers work together, at every stage of the product journey.
