Shh, don’t tell anyone but…
In a previous life, I was a translator who worked on anything from screenplays for kids to virtual museum guides and app copy, with a bit of brand content thrown in the mix.
Defining voice and tone
Putting user needs first
Advocating for best practices, ethical design and inclusive language
Sounds familiar, right?
Turns out translation and UX writing have a lot in common!
When you translate a text, you work as an ambassador for the language: highlighting cultural differences, flagging inappropriate tone and occasionally yes, pointing out when a joke is offensive.
It’s more than just the words.
My background
I love learning new stuff, which is handy when you work in an industry that’s constantly evolving.
In 2022 I completed a postgraduate course in UX Writing and Content Design at SHIFTA by Elisava in Barcelona.
For more of a challenge, the whole course was taught in Spanish.
Aside from modules on design theory, behavioural psychology and content strategy, it taught me one important thing: there's always more to learn.
My values
I might be a freelancer but that doesn’t mean I’m a lone wolf.
I love working with people and figuring out ways to solve a particular problem.
Language-based challenges are my speciality.
I value long-term relationships with my clients and always prioritise longer-running projects.
