— Raul Berniches, Executive Producer, Mago Production

The How

Solution:

I worked on this project over the course of 3 years.

First, I translated the original screenplay, supporting director’s notes, and communication.

Once it was produced, I created the subtitles.

This required close attention to language, time and space restrictions, and character limits on the screen. All while staying true to the original words and intended meaning.

This was a challenge, especially when the characters spoke very quickly.

Thankfully, the director was always available to answer any queries I had.

The lesson:

My first experience in microcopy and the challenge of writing with character limits. And it was hard!

I love this film and I loved being part of this project.

You can read more about it here on the film's website.
